ITVF explores beach TEQVOLY™ opportunities of event hosting in Rushan City
Mr. Istvan Dobrei, Secretary General of the International Table Volleyball Federation (ITVF), paid an official visit to Rushan City, where he met with the Mayor and local officials to explore the city’s potential as a future host for international beach TEQVOLY™ events. The visit included an on-site inspection of the seaside competition venue at Thumbs Plaza, a scenic coastal location known for its vibrant tourism and event-friendly infrastructure.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the feasibility of organizing beach TEQVOLY™ tournaments in Rushan, highlighting the sport’s growing global appeal and its compatibility with the city’s natural assets. With its wide beachfront, mild climate, and strong municipal support for sports and recreation, Rushan is well-positioned to become a flagship location for outdoor TEQVOLY™ competitions in China.
“Rushan offers a stunning coastal setting that aligns perfectly with the spirit of beach TEQVOLY™—open, energetic, and community-driven,” said Mr. Dobrei. “The venue at Thumbs Plaza has great potential to host high-profile events that will draw athletes and fans from across the country and beyond.”
City officials expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing the benefits it could bring to local tourism, youth engagement, and international visibility. Plans were discussed for pilot events, local training initiatives, and promotional campaigns aimed at introducing TEQVOLY™ to new audiences along China’s eastern seaboard.
This initiative is part of the ITVF’s broader strategy to expand the sport beyond indoor and urban environments, tapping into coastal and recreational spaces that can offer unique, spectator-friendly experiences.
As the conversation continues between ITVF and Rushan city leadership, the prospect of launching China’s first beach TEQVOLY™ events is gaining momentum—setting the stage for a new wave of open-air matches and regional excitement.
